Well, it's been a while but I'm finally getting a chance to blog Beckham's first birthday party! We went with a modern lion theme so that we could use a lot of the decor from his room and of course he loves lions ;) To change it up a bit I just added some olive green to the mix and it gave it a whole new look! The green helped make it look "wild" without going too overboard on the jungle theme. I included details and links for a lot of the decor...if thats your kind of thing :)
Birthday morning tradition..woke up to a crib full of balloons and VERY enthusiastic brothers singing happy birthday to him!
Dana custom made these invitations and thank you notes for me and I just love how they turned out!
Monthly pics on a piece of plywood and gold binder clips from target!
This wooden house frame goes over Beckham's crib. I knew when we made it that I didn't want it attached to the crib so I could possibly use it for his birthday party...I plan ahead. hah! :)
bib from one of my favorite designers Roxy Marj, many of her items are now available at Crate and Kids.
Obvi a coffee bar was necessary for an early party. Cups from: Hobby Lobby but one of them broke and spilled hot coffee so I will probably buy them from Amazon next time.
donut holes for the kiddos
Rosemary Infused Scones. I bought the scones from Target and made the icing from
this recipe ;)
Fruit Salad to incorporate some green on the table! Cutest thin striped napkins from: ikea
We had so many questions about this donut stand. Ryan made it and it was so easy! It's just 2 pieces of wood glued together for the bottom stand and then 4 wooden dowels in various heights attached with screws underneath to secure them on the stand.
We made 3 batches of these kolaches and there were still not enough. If you are doing breakfast/brunch parties you just can't go wrong with these...everyone LOVES them!
These are slightly smaller versions of the lion pillow I made for Beckham's room (and Tori Spelling's nursery) and I backed them in olive green minky. These make perfect favors/nursery decor or snuggle pillows and are available to purchase here.
Becks has a bunch of toys from his brothers so I was trying to think of something different and fun for him! I found this foam ball pit on Etsy (from Poland) and it has been SUCH a hit with alllllll the brothers :) I can't find it on Etsy anymore but looks like it can be found here.
Becks is not really a foodie so we were not surprised that he cared more about the little sign on top than the actual cake!
Don't worry though, he was able to smash cake in my face...
We rented a bounce house for the bigger kids and it was such great weather to play in unlike our summer birthday parties :)
The girls got to escape for a little while to go to our favorite coffee shop, Summer Moon!
Poor baby wasn't feeling very well so he probably slept through half of his party! :(
He woke up ready to open presents though...
Thanks to all our friends and family for taking time out of their day to come celebrate our baby Becks!
Becksy, you are so loved!
