Pumpkin Patch!

We took Gavin to the pumpkin patch in Grapevine off of Hall Johnson and Pool. He was so excited to debut his cute little owl costume :) Unfortunately, he fell asleep in the car on the way and we had to wake him up to take these pictures
...so not many smiles-just a sleepy little owl.

as soon as we put him back in the stroller he was all smiles... little stinker :)

Happy Halloween!!

He finally put a ring on it :)

I am so excited to announce that my sweet mama and her BF John are finally engaged!! They have been dating for over 5 years! He proposed last weekend while she was visiting him in Cali. She found a ring box in her suitcase and he asked her to marry him! Sister and I decided to throw her a little surprise party when she got back from the airport Monday night.

Steph participated through Facebook video chat :)

We are so excited!!! Congrats Mom and John!!

...and because I can't do a post without a picture of this little guy...

GOOOOOOO RANGERS!!!

Gavin Reid you are THREE months old!!

What have you been up to??

You are still eating about every 3 hours during the day and are still 100% on breast milk.

Best new update is that you are sleeping about 10 consecutive hours each night, usually going to bed around 8:30-9:00 and waking up around 6:30-7:30! I don't know how we got so lucky! You are such a good sleeper!  However, your naps have shortened from 11/2 hrs to about 45mins.... ehhh-  I guess if it means you will sleep through the night I will take it!

Also, you don't really like being rocked to sleep in the rocking chair anymore :(  You actually prefer to be danced to sleep. We dance to two songs and BAM you are out. I have just started watching Dancing With The Stars and I may or may not have incorporated some of the new moves I learned into our bedtime dance routine :) You love it.

You are still wearing some 0-3 clothes, but mostly 3-6 month outfits! I can't believe how big you are already!

You smile and talk ALL the time! Every time daddy comes home from work you greet him with big smiles and giggles! We were sooo exited the first time we heard you laugh-its a very quick giggle that almost sounds like a hiccup but I know it is a laugh ;)

Here is a little clip of you laughing. Now this time you really did have the hiccups but it was just too cute not to share:   Disclaimer: I don't know why this video looks like I am trying to give you shaken baby syndrome. You just think bouncing is really funny.

You have also started sucking going to town on your fist. One of your fists is always in your mouth. Oh my goodness, I just noticed it is always your LEFT hand! Are you going to be a LEFTY?? I know Honey would be very excited about that.

Daddy gives you a bottle before you go to bed each night and we always try to fill your little tummy so you have a better chance of sleeping through the night. You sometimes drink 5oz before bedtime! The tired eyes plus the full tummy leads to a look we like to call....
hehe :)

People always ask me if we have had to endure a major diaper blowout yet. Up until last week I was proud to say we have managed to steer clear of any huge blowouts, but we knew it was only a matter of time. Boy, did you impress us. ICK! It reached all the way to your tag on your onesie. I'm not even mad...I'm amazed :)
Daddy had the privledge of sharing that first blowout with you. Seems only appropriate.  :)

I can't believe it's been 3 months!

We LOVE you sweet boy!

SEW worth it!

Sewing class #2-Complete! These classes cost a little bit of $$ but it has been totally worth it. I cant believe how much I learned in 2 hours today! I have been pumped about this applique class because I spend too much money buying appliqued onesies and burp cloths for Gavin and for gifts. I want to be able to make them myself and use my own fabric and ideas...and maybe one day have a little Etsy site of my own???

Anyways, we had to draw or buy a pattern to applique and something to attach it to. I decided to draw a tie and attach it to a bib instead of a onesie-
1. because I am not an artist and ties seemed easy to sew around
2. because Gavin has a ton of tie onesies that are super cute but I always end up covering the cute onesies with a boring bib because I don't want him to spit up all over them (and he has reflux so he goes through 2 or 3 outfits some days :) ) ...so I thought why not just make a cute bib!

I used some of the leftover fabric from his crib bedding. Here is how it turned out!

I made two bibs and I can't wait to make more! Thank you Rachel Menden for letting me borrow your sewing machine!!

On my way out I saw that the store next door was having a 40% off sale on their fabrics...so I had to pick up a few on my way out :)

See...who cares what his onesie looks like? what a cute BIB!! haha
He loves it-do you love it?

SEW exciting!

I was FINALLY able to start taking some of those sewing classes I've been talking about for years now!  I have very basic sewing ability that I picked up from my step-mom one summer in middle school I think! We she made a ton of pillows that summer :) Anyways, I have been wanting to learn how to sew correctly so I can make all of the things I think up in my head! Today I had my first class at City Craft in Dallas. There was only one other girl there and we had so much fun and learned a ton too!  I can't wait to start making Gavin all the cute stuff I have been buying off of Etsy! well...maybe I'm not there yet, but hopefully soon! ;)

...now I just need a sewing machine!  (small detail)

Here is the cute tote bag I made tonight!

While I was sewing, Ryan and Gavin got to spend the evening together watching the Rangers go to the ALCS! YEAH!! I made Ryan send me picture updates like every half hour because I am not used to being away from Mr. G for so long!!

Looks like the Rangers wore him out! :)
